volunteer work

Hi everyone. I have a question....

I have worked for a particular hospital for almost 2 years and recently joined their volunteer program. The program has about 25 of us who are divided into four teams and each team provides volunteer medical care at a local clinic once a month. I love it.

Before joining up I made sure that I was covered under the hospital insurance/malpractice/legal coverage.

Now I have left that hospital and am working for another. But I really really want to continue to volunteer at the clinic. I do have my own insurance (NSO) but I am not sure if its a good idea to work without the larger umbrella of a hospital covering me.

Has anyone done this? Does anyone know of any situations that have happened to someone volunteering on their own? Any info appreciated.
