Virginia Hospice Nurse Salaries

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

I've just relocated to VA from the West coast and am planning to continue hospice nursing here - probably in the Hampton Roads or Richmond areas. Can anyone give me feedback on what I can expect the hourly compensation range to be? I've been a nurse for ten years and my last two years of experience were in hospice. I've also posted a thread in the Hospice forum regarding this question. Thanks for your help.

i live in the hampton roads area and i can tell you the home care agency i work for pay RN's $21-$23/hr. i hear salaries in the richmond area are higher, but not around here. welcome to hampton roads, hope you enjoy it here!!

Thanks for your feedback. Could you tell me whether you're your home health agency is connected to a tertiary care system (a hospital system) or if it's an independent agency?

i am working for an independent agency, tho as several office along the east coast. i have worked for a hospital based agency and can tell you the pay is similar. from what i have heard the salaries are lower in this area because of all the military. Still a nice area to live. and being originally from the north, can't beat the weather.
