Does anyone know the most current number of supplemental points for acceptance to any of the Ventura County Nursing Programs? I am trying to determine how much I need to beef up my language, GPA, volunteer/work time in Health Care etc. I have not seen any info on Moorpark since it changed from wait list to a point system. I was wondering if anyone knew the points level that students need to achieve to get in? THANKS ALL!

Moorpark
More than 200 hours of volunteering = 2.5 pts
more than 200 hours working in healthcare= 5pts (you can only choose one from volunteering and working)
Life experiences or special circumstances (disabilities,low family income,first generation in college, neet to work,disadvantaged socla or educaional environment,difficult personal and family circumstances,refugee status,veteran)=2.5 pts
Proficiency in advanced language other than english = max 2.5 pts
GPA
in science prereqs
4.0 -> 40pts
3.5-3.99 -> 35
3.0-3.49 -> 30
2.5-2.99 ->25
In written composition and math 4.0=10 pts, 3.5-3.99= 8 pts, 3.0-3.49=6 pts, 2.5-2.99=4 pts
if yo had and repeats (W,D,F,I) in science math or english you get pts deducted... 1 repear= -3,2 repeats=-5, 3 repeats=-7.5, 4 or more =-10
that pretty much sums it all up.You can always meet with the nursing counselor and she will give you the paper of Points and whatnot
Hi, Thanks I actually meant the number--the actual number when you add up the points-- that is the cutoff for acceptance. I have these and am trying to get as many "points" as possible, including volunteer time, taking spanish for the foreign language points and keeping up science and GPA overall. I know it fluctuates each year and have seen CSUCI have the cutoff at 31. I have never seen the cutoff for Moorpark. HOW many "points" actually gets you in?? ANYONE get in adn know??
THANKS SOOOOO MUCH, also the info is very helpful to others so thanks for posting!
