I have spent the last three years developing a territory and establishing credibility and professional relationships with physicians and nursing facilities for Hospice. Census has been terrific,we have had word of mouth referrals from the community"Mrs. so and so had those Hospice nurses and I want/want mom to have/grandma etc.. to have them. I have had people on the street stop me that knew I provided service to their friends to ask how to have Hospice service. We are a small rural community,I've had clergy call me at home to ask how to get service, had people ask my husband at the county fair during the rodeo/cattle show etc... to have me call them"to answer some questions." The other RNs that used to be on the team had the same response. Then, one RN had her job eliminated, the other was moved to a larger team due to an opening, then the hiring started.......
Due to the manipulation of two of the three nurses on the so called "team" now that my last pt. has died, the whole county/territory must be given to another "team." The two manipulators are new & live at distance beyond the expected call response time...management HIRED them, knowing where they live, then CAVED IN to their c/o about milage and drive time.
I am,well,I'm not really sure just what the feelings are tonight, loss for one thing.
Politics suck!!!
My only solace right now is the other team is a very skilled group and the pt.s will get the care they deserve.
Thanks for the therapy time...
