Hello Everyone-
Just wondering if you facility uses any form of vein locators (Vena Vue, I know there's a 1 or 2 more on the market). If so, do you use them to start IV's Draw blood or both? Just curious, I know the technology is new and I'm just wondering if anyone has seen it in action with any success... Thanks

in the e.r, for pediatric pt's or other hard to locate veins we use a transilluminator to find veins. it works pretty well.

we have two different vein illuminators........I dont think they work that well except for edematous patients (fluid edema). Otherwise, not worth the cost in my opinion. This is an adult opinion, not peds.
