Hello Valencia college traditional nursing applicants, I hadn't yet come across a forum for Fall 2021 applicants so I Thought I'd start one for those beginning the application process. Fall 2020 has just finished an I was waiting on my grades to post before I would submit an application for Fall 2021. I haven't yet taken the TEAS test yet but am scheduled for the end of January 2021. My current stats are 3.85 cumulative GPA and a science GPA of 3.75. Hoping that I do well enough on the TEAS test, my plan is to submit my application upon my TEAS test results posting to my atlas in January. I think the deadline for fall applicants is May right? and decisions are in June? Well hopefully I'm not too late because I know its on a first come first serve basis. I hope to hear from more of you as it seems like there isn't enough time to get everything together and I most certainly don't want to feel alone during this process.
Scheduled to take my TEAS at the end of January and have been studying my tail off. I believe that Valencia is making updates on their ADN program beginning Fall 2021 and new admissions requirements may be on the rise for myself and those who intend on applying for Fall 2021.
I finally took my TEAS on Friday and scored an 81%, glad thats over. Now I'ts just a waiting game until Valencia opens their app. I think we should be finding out something soon because they are having a fall 2021 cohort for sure and the usual deadline for fall is in May and we're approaching February in a couple of days. so my guess is that hopefully in February we will be finding out something. I also have been applying to other schools just in case, they switch their "rolling admissions" into a "point system" and I don't get accepted. whelp I hope you all are doing well and I hope to hear more about your journeys through acceptance.
This is just speculation on my part because I'm anxiously awaiting their changes, but I think maybe they may wait after they have sent out acceptance e-mails for the Summer 2021 cohort to begin the fall 2021 cohort application process... again, just my speculation

Hey Tune!
I finished up my pre-req's and took the TEAS in December. As soon as the grades posted I applied for the evening/weekend program and haven't heard back yet. You're not alone, can't wait to see what they have in store for us!
OMG you were able to apply for fall 2021???? I'm kind of jealous, I thought I would be able to apply late January because my TEAS was scheduled towards the end but because valencia is in the process of making curiculum changes they closed the application portal mid January. so unfortuantely I'm stuck waiting and waiting until they open their application portal. well lucky you, it sucks being this early because there is so much idle time, yet the early birds are those who get the worm, good luck jumbo, wish you the best.
oh side note, this may be helpful for some. I reached out to my advisor about info with the nursing prerequisites and she said as far as she is concerned there are no add ons or changes to the prerequisites for applying. so if your wondering if you may need to take additional classes, don't worry you won't. I try to find out as much info as possible for everyone because I know how it feels to be out of the loop on things. I will continue to update as soon as I get more info.
Just got off the phone with a health sciences advisor and she said that they've had a lot of applicants held over from last Fall and they're still saying a two semester wait list. January 15th is the when the review for that started and it will be 6-8 weeks after that they'll send out approval/denials.
oh wow that far back huh? thanks for that info Jumbo, I guess I should submit apps for other schools just in case
*****MAJOR UPDATE**** unfortunately I come baring bad news for anyone who has not submitted an application before January 15th 2021, myself included. I have just been informed that Valencia will not be seeking new applications for this coming FALL 2021 and Spring 2022. Those who have been waitlisted for previous semesters and those who have applied prior to January 15th will still be considered for FALL 2021 and Spring 2022. All other applicants will resume Spring 2022 for Summer 2022 cohort. I wasnt able to download a copy of the e-mail but have copied and pasted the update for you to read here. Good luck to you all, I wish you all nothing but the best in your pursuit to be a Nurse.
PROGRAM UPDATE
Effective Fall 2021, the School of Nursing will implement curriculum changes to the Traditional Associate in Science in Nursing (ASN) program.
I'm writing to inform you about a curriculum change to Valencia College's Traditional Associate in Science in Nursing (ASN) program. These changes — which are effective for the Fall 2021 term — include a change in program options, such as a new part-time option for all Traditional programs (Daytime & Evening/Weekend), admission requirements, and the application process. To students who want to apply to the 2021-2022 Traditional Nursing program: In preparation for these curriculum changes, the Valencia College School of Nursing will not accept new applicants for the Traditional Nursing (Daytime and Evening/Weekend) program admission consideration for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022.
The School of Nursing is anticipating resuming admitting new students into the Traditional ASN program for the Summer 2022. The application for that term is projected to be available in early 2022.
To students who are interested in applying for the Valencia College/UCF Concurrent Nursing program:
For Fall 2021 and Spring 2022, the School of Nursing will accept new applicants for the Valencia College/UCF Concurrent Nursing program. Students applying for Fall 2021 Concurrent will be considered for admission per the requirements listed in the 2020-2021 or earlier catalogs. Students applying for Spring 2022 will be considered for admission per the implemented curriculum changes listed in the 2021-2022 catalog.
To students who applied to the Traditional Nursing program on or before January 15, 2021 and were not selected or waitlisted: Eligible Traditional students who applied prior to Friday, January 15, 2021 who are on the waitlist to be admitted to the ASN program(s) with the former requirements (as listed in the 2020-2021 or earlier catalogs) are being considered for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 admission. These students are not impacted by the new admission requirements but will need to meet all program graduation requirements after acceptance.
