Hello, I have already applied to UWG's (University of West GA) nursing program and to two other nursing programs. I am wondering if I should wait to hear if I am accepted to UWG or not on April 1st and then take CNA classes, or if I should start taking classes now?? The problem is, if I am accepted to the nursing program, I need to be certified by May 1st, and that doesnt give me a lot of time to take classes. On the other hand, as of right now, most CNA programs have classes during the day and I would not be able to drive to the locations in time. Has anyone experienced this dilemma before? I appreciate any positive feedback.

I would def say not to wait. Finishing the CNA program does not make you a CNA. You would still have to take the certification exam and apply for certification. This process can take weeks to months. Take the course like yesterday.
And that time frame doesn't account for if you fail the first try and have to retake either the manual or skills exam or both. It happens more often then you would think. You only have 3.5 months to get it done so don't wait.
Thank you, I just have to take my current course schedule into account and also finding a CNA program close to where I live has been difficult.
