I had the email interview, but not the phone interview yet. Maybe I won't be getting a phone interview.
I have struggled with trying to get into a nursing clinical program in Wisconsin. I am an adult re-entry student. Some schools say my credits are too old. Others don't care how well you did, you just get in line and hope there aren't too many people in line ahead of you.
I have a Bachelor's in Microbiology and a Master's in Health Services Administration. I scored in the 98th percentile overall for the TEAS V (99th percentile in the math portion) and 99th on the NLN Pax.
I'm beginning to think it would have been easier to apply to medical school than to a nursing clinical program.
I felt my phone interview went very well. It's nerve wracking playing the waiting game now though.
I had my email interview 9/23 and found out I was on to the phone interview 10/4. It took me a few tries to get it scheduled, I just had it 11/9.
They said they were getting towards the end of phone interviews. They have a hard deadline of 1/30 but expect to know towards the end of December.
I don't know about credits being too old, I graduated college in 2006 and mine all count. They also want to know about your CNA experience though and how you've prepared for the program. I did see a "regular" accelerated nursing program in the state that won't take credits over 5 yrs old though. This program seems to be my best bet.
Hello. This is an old post, so I don't know if I will receive a response or not. I am considering the UW-Oshkosh accelerated. I am taking prerequisites now. I am trying to reach anyone that is either in the program NOW or has been in the past. I am not allowed to email anyone yet because I don't have enough posts since joining the site but I am really wanting to reach someone that is going through the program now or already has. Please email me at [email protected] if you like. Thanks!

Has anyone applied for the May 2012 Accelerated Online BSN program at UW-Oshkosh?? I have my phone interview on Wednesday! I'm super excited but looking for a few pointers. I've looked around on here from previous years. I don't know what questions to ask during my interview though! I fully understand the commitment this program requires and am ready to make the sacrifices. How should I communicate that without sounding needy? Lol.
I've finished all my pre-reqs, except anatomy (which I'm taking right now online). I switched my CNA job within the company I work for.. I was in Home Health for 2 yrs and Sue said it would strengthen my app to work in a nursing home, with more than one person at a time. So I did an internal application and switched to Residential care...CBRF's.
Any fellow applicants out there?
