UW ABSN Summer 2017

Published

So I know its early, but I thought I start the 2017 thread. I've been reading last years threads and there seems to be lots of good info in there so I hope this thread will be just as helpful. A little about me... I have my undergrad in healthcare admin, all my prereqs are done, but organic chemistry, and I have about three years of healthcare experience in various areas. My cumulative gpa is 3.7 and I have a 4.0 in prereqs.

I read in one post they are really big on applicants following directions for the essay and also knowing what a nurse does (not just the cool stuff). Thankfully, I work side by side with nurses everyday so I have a pretty good idea.

Hey zebrarider, thanks for starting this thread. I've been reading previous years threads as well and have found them super helpful. A bit about me... I have my BS in Health Promotion and Education. I have been working as an ER tech for Swedish for the past 2 years, maintaining my CNA and MA-P licenses. I am also a BLS instructor at Edmonds Community College. I have all my pre-reqs done except for organic chemistry. I have 5 children, all still at home. So working, going to school and being mom has kept my plate full.

I'm getting ready to send in my application but still have the personal statement to write. I've also heard that following the directions to a "T" is super important. Here is the link for the online info session if anyone is interested. I found it really helpful and suggest listening to it a few times.
