UTH, BCM, Wesleyan: How competitive am I?

Published

Specializes in MICU, NsICU.

Hey everyone, just looking for some quick feedback on how competitive I may be as an applicant to the schools mentioned in the title with the following stats:

First bachelor's degree (non-nursing): 3.6 GPA (rounded down)

BSN: 3.9 GPA (rounded down)

Sciences (including Ochem, etc.): 4.0

Experience: 5.5 total years ICU experience. 2.5 years in Neuro ICU, 3 years in MICU, all of which is at a flagship, big name, level I, teaching, yadda yadda blah blah hospital. Plenty of drips, ventilator management, tons of procedures, etc.

GRE (first attempt): 317 - I will likely take this again, as I did not take it under anywhere near ideal circumstances and I foresee a score at or above 325 being possible (but for now ignore this, just look at the 317 for this post).

Basically just a 'by the numbers' post - CCRN, shadowing experience, specifics such as charging on unit, etc. I don't want to worry about right now. Just want to know if any of the numbers I posted will potentially/likely get my application tossed out immediately.

Thanks in advance for any feedback from those who applied at, were accepted at, or graduated from the schools in the title.
