UTA Nursing students. would you mind sharing stats?

Hello everyone,

I am interesred in applying to the online ap bsn program at UTA.*

If you've been accepted in the past, do you mind sharing your stats?

In total I need about 8 more pre-requisites to complete. A&P1 and 2, microbiology, statistics, technical writing and the 3 pre-nursing courses. Aiming to apply for fall 2017 or spring 2018. Did any of you take technical writing & stats online at another college?

I will have 2 considerations by the time I apply, but currently not working in a partner hospital. For those who were employed at a partner hospital- what type of work did you do?

I know the partner hospitals vary by semester but doesn't anyone know what the usual hospitals are in the Houston area?*

Lastly, if you've started the program do you mind sharing if you are happy with the program and your decision on UTA?

Hi,

I graduated from the UTA accelerated RN program last year. I worked in healthcare before as a respiratory therapist for a few years. Luckily my hospital was a partnered hospital. I was initially wait listed and received an acceptance call about a month after the decisions were made. I had most of the courses needed for the nursing program completed with my initial science degree, but I did have to take technical writing, lifespan development, anatomy 2 and the 3 nursing pre-requisites. I completed the lifespan and technical writing class through a community college (online) in the dallas area and took anatomy 2 through UTA online as well. As far as stats go, I took a healthcare statistics a long time ago and luckily they accepted that course.

As far as the houston clinical sites I know the houston people completed clinical at Conroe regional, Texas Children's (for pedi), brazosport regional....and I'm not sure where else, I know they are trying to expand their clinical sites to accommodate more students.

I am extremely happy that I completed the online nursing program in 15 months. It goes by so quickly and sometimes I still can't believe I am an RN. I graduated and took my NCLEX as soon as I could because my job was dependent on having the RN behind my name. All of the lost sleep and frustrations are totally worth it

Stats - my GPA going in was a 3.75 and graduating GPA was 3.7

I have a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration.

I'm also a phlebotomist and research assistant at a clinical trials Institute. I'm currently living in California but will be moving back home (to Houston) so I was hoping to seek employment at a partnered hospital to increase my chances of acceptance!
