Hello.
I'm working on my application for USF's Summer 2010 CNL for the non-nurse program...just wondering if others out there are applying as well and if you're as nervous as I am! Some moral support would be fabulous.
I'd also be thrilled to receive some application pointers by those who made it into the program. I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa and I've been working in public health for the past three years...I also volunteer at SFGH's emergency room. I'm wondering which of these experiences will be most compelling to admissions.
Thanks!

You sound like a super competitive candidate! I was just accepted to the program for Spring 2010. I have several years of hospital clerical experience, but no clinical.. I would definitely focus on your experiences in your admission essay, what they taught you, why you are driven to be a nurse, etc... Good luck!

I think your Peace Corps and public health stuff is very compelling. If you've got good grades then I think you're quite likely to get in.
(ps - former Peace Corps stint in Zaire... long before it became Congo again)
Yay PCVs. Do you participate in RPCV activities? We have monthly happy hours and volunteer activities-- I'm on the board and I'm always looking for RPCVs who want to be involved.
Thank you for your pointers!
