Hello!
So I'm trying to get into Shadyside School of Nursing for January 2014. I have been accepted into other Nursing programs such as Clarion and Robert Morris but Shadyside just feels like the right fit. I am however struggling with the PSB exam part and I'm really confused about the results. It's the vocabulary portion that really got me and I don't know why? I have taken Medical Terminology, A&PI and II, Micro, Human Growth, Chem, Organic Chem and I didn't have nearly as much trouble with any of those classes but I'm really having a hard time with this vocab! Any words of advice to help me pass? I bought Barron's book and have studied it pretty well. I just think this entrance exam is a little silly since I've taken and passed so many pre-reqs and I even have my CNA licenses already too. Any little bit helps! Thanks in advanced!

I was confused with my results too, I took it in January and just took it again. What were you scores in verbal, reading, math, science?
I got a 44 in Reading and a 42 in Verbal.. those were the percentiles. I only missed my verbal by 2 questions and the reading by 3. I didn't realize that the ones you left unanswered went against you. They're making me retake it, yet again. I passed Medical Terminology with a 95 percent and also got an A in College Writing so I don't understand why this is impossible for me. I went to the Informational Session yesterday and really enjoyed and love the school.

I am also trying to attended Shadyside SON for the January start but I haven't taken my PSB yet. I took it back in March and I didn't do so well on it. I'm debating on if I should get my prereqs out of the way first or not.
I have most of my pre-reqs done and passed them all with A's and B's.. I just can't seem to get a good grasp on the vocab part and I think it's the time limit on the reading that got me. I also didn't realize that unanswered questions went against us until recently. I'm taking mine again in September because I want nothing more than to be apart of the January class.
