in my previous updates I have never mentioned our labs
the school has this human simulator. its not the run-of-the-mill sim man. its its the mercedees of human simulators. it acutally inhales o2 and exhales co2. anyway durring this semester is assigend four dates to be in the lab. I had my third last week.
we have been learning the sequence of events that happen from when the patiet rolls in the door. through inductin and incision so far. it a blast it somewhat ofsets the tulmultous diffictulty of the rest of the program because when we get in the lab we remeber what its all about. we get the simualtor drugs and it knows what its getting. we put him on the vent and dial in our resps. TV. peep. what have you. I am starting to see the light at the end of this semesters perverbial tunnel.
most everyone is passing now which makes everyone feel better. we have cultivated better study habbits and have learned how our teachers test us.
we have almost a month off off for christmas.
heeeeee haaaaaaa
on a hevier note we are going into our fourth and final content exam for anatomy and physiology. it is the renal section. notrious for being the hardest in every program.

hey alan i go to kaiser in pasedena, we have a simulator also. tho we havent started to use it yet, but it sounds kinda cool. it does all kinds of desats, one lung vent, and heart arrythmias. a little less anxiety producing vs learning on a patient for the first time. :)

A month off that is great. Just curious, do you get any other big breaks. The program I am in (32 months) give us 4 wk's this christmas, but that is becuase we are taking 16 hours of MSN classesthis semester. However, after christmas, we don't get any breaks in the class room, one semester after the other for the duration of the 28 months. We do get two wk's vaction a year, but I think it is just from clinical and not the class room. It seems like a long haul, but it will be worth it in the end. I try to take it one day at a time, because it often seems way to overwhelming at times to think about the entire program.
