Hello everyone,
I got in for the May 2014 accelerated bachelors of nursing program, just got my answer about a month ago. today i received the letter asking for Immunization, FBI clearance, drug testing, and CPR/BLS certification. I am surprised i haven't seen/heard anything about those requirements before, even though i spoke with the school representatives a lot in the last month. I read some forums and students there said it took them over a month to get the fbi clearance done. =/ can anyone from the may 2014 class tell me how long it took them to get everything done? and how much did it all cost? I heard it was along the lines of $200.
also one more question, i went on the AHA website and there are a few of the CPR AED, and BLS courses listed. i am not sure which one to do. there is a BLS for healthcare professionals course and looks like it has CPR included in it, is it acceptable to just take that one?
thank you!

University of Miami Accelerated BSN Summer 2014
I received information about those requirements two weeks ago. It shouldn't take long for everything to get done as long as your in Florida from what I hear. Most of my stuff are done i'm just waiting on my results from my prints and the info for drug testing. The background check is $169. And the certification is "BLS for Healthcare Professionals" and that cost me around $50. Hope this helps!
Thank you nikkitas! I'm going to look for the Facebook group. Was the bls for healthcare professionals enough to cover the CPR/bls requirement? Or will I still need to take a separate CPR course as well?.
I also have to take the CLEP for human growth and development (mine only goes up to adolescence), so what I saw all the extra requirements I got a bit worried
