Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to UPenn's MSN programs. I applied to the WHNP program (full-time, Summer 2026 start). From what I understand, we won't hear back until February, which is totally fine. I know the waiting can be tough!

I'd love to hear what programs you're applying to as well. God's blessings to everyone during the process. If it's meant for you, you'll get in!

I applied to their PMHNP program, good luck to everyone ❤️

Yes good luck to you!. I hope you get in. When did you submit?

literally last night!!

Oh just in time. Well its time to wait and see. Sending good vibes your way!

Hi, I am applying to Psychiatric-Mental MSN. Still have to finish my last assays and record a video. Any advice on video?

I was told to be as genuine and as natural as possible ❤️

same to you as well ❤️

Be authentic and make sure they can see your passion. Why you chose Psych instead of any other specialty?

Yes we will!

Hello!

so excited, what made you choose whnp? I was stuck between whnp and midwifery and ultimately choose whnp after research. I'm super passionate about women's health and after research and shadowing I realized baby catching isn't for me, especially the "atmosphere" that surrounds it. It would have been nice if they still had the dual degree though 😕, would have been cool to have the skill.

Hello,

I chose to pursue the WHNP track over midwifery because I am deeply passionate about women's health and addressing the disparities that affect marginalized women. Throughout my life, I've been surrounded by women, and I've always been drawn to the vulnerability and strength they display when it comes to their health. This inspires me to ensure that women are truly heard, respected, and empowered to advocate for their bodies.

As a NICU nurse, I've realized that while childbirth is a beautiful and significant moment, "catching babies" is not where my true passion lies. Although I appreciate the dual degree option for the added skills and opportunities it provides, my ultimate goal is to remain focused within the broader realm of women's health, where I feel I can make the greatest impact.
