University of Cincinnati MSN Summer 2020

Published

Hello! Has anyone applied, or gotten accepted to, one of the MSN programs at U of Cincinnati for the summer 2020 term? I recently found out I was accepted to the midwifery program! Anyone else?

Congratulations!! I also got accepted into the FNP cohort for the summer. Very excited! I know several people who went through the CNM track and they have nothing but positive things to say about the program.

Congratulations to you as well, Entravel! So excited to start. I’m happy you’ve heard great things about the CNM program.

If this thread gains enough traction, perhaps we can create a Facebook page for those of us beginning this summer!

Agreed! It would be great to meet more students and develop a support network.

Just applied to the summer FNP program! Waiting to see if I'm accepted!!

@Isthompson19 ??For you! They have a pretty fast turn around time, about 2-3 weeks. So hopefully you’ll find out soon.

I was accepted into the FNP online program for Summer 2020. I’m very excited and would love to connect with other students!

How long did it take for you to find out

After I completed my application through NursingCAS, it took about a week to be verified through UC. After that it took around 2 weeks to find out whether or not I was accepted. The advisor kept me in the loop throughout the entire process which was super helpful and reassuring. She updated me when my application was “sent for faculty review” and it was between 1-2 weeks after that. Good luck!

I submitted my application on Jan 2, and it was verified on the 6th. After it was verified, I didn’t receive any notifications about my status until the 17th, which was when I received my acceptance letter.

Thanks!

Hey guys! I applied to this program but the wording on the website somewhat confuses me. They say

"Five semesters is all it takes for individuals with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing to earn a Master of Science in Nursing and become a licensed registered nurse (RN). Graduates also are prepared to continue their education and become a nurse practitioner."

Do you have to continue on further than this program to become an NP? It was my understanding that a MSN got you to where you needed to be for an NP

Also does anyone know when this program requires you to take the NCLEX?
