Has anyone done this program? I'm looking into it and it seems great but there are hardly any updates reviews. Thanks!

Hello everyone! I am starting the FNP program with USU starting in a few days! May 5th. Anyone else? I feel at the moment I’m most anxious about perfecting APA format ??. I haven’t had to use that writing style in over 10 years. Best of luck to all of you!

I'm at USU now and finished my bachelor's not long ago. I think I wrote something like 37 papers. You can use PERRLA software for formatting. Also, grammarly is really good to brush up your style of writing. I'm happy to answer any questions.

I have about a hundred questions as well!! Haha I’m hoping after a few weeks we will get into a groove and learn our way around the internet classroom. I enjoyed attending class in college so this online route is new for me! Feel free to message me anytime! Personal email: [email protected]

Thank you so much for the references!?? I’ll definitely have to look into those. How have things been going for you so far? I’ve had a few sleepless nights since committing to the program; worrying! I think more so just being hesitant of the unknown.

Hi! I'm starting my second class tomorrow. I don't know everything, but I can give you a heads up on the first class. I know how overwhelming it can feel.

No problem! It's totally manageable at this point. I'm not in the heavier classes yet, of course, but it has not been too difficult. My main suggestion would be to do your reading early on in your week. I've gotten a bit behind at times by leaving the reading until last and will not do that for this next class. That said, I still ended with a very good grade. The quizzes are tough, but you get two attempts. The questions are different the second time around in most cases. They are only worth ten points, so don't get too upset if you don't do as well as you'd like.

I know it's hard not to, but worrying won't serve you well. Once you complete the first week you will feel more comfortable and see the pattern of due dates. That should help you feel more settled. The first class has a lot of smaller assignments and one paper. It also has a PowerPoint assignment. Follow the rubrics for all assignments and you will do great. If you are confused about an assignment, message me. I can walk you through it and send examples. I'm happy to help.

Helen,

I've only completed one class, but if you have questions for the beginning of this part of your education, I'm happy to answer.

Hello,

This thread has been extremely helpful in my decision making, which FNP program to apply to?

Thank you for all your input. Very good info. I applied today to start September 1st.

Great to hear. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll have a few classes under my belt by then.

I have questions about this school as well. The course work. Is it primarily discussion-based, or quiz based? Any ideas on which schools have more quiz based course-work?

I am just starting this program and not completely sure it is the one I want. Are most of the classes discussion based or quiz-based? I prefer a quiz based format and have found that this is a lot more discussion than the two other graduate classes I have taken. I am hoping it is just this class and not the whole program. Any feedback would be appreciated.
