Unit Transfer Advice

Published

I have been an L&d nurse for just over 3 years. Part time initially, now registry. My

nervousness related to work is not getting better. We float to postpartum occasionally and a few nurses there said when they couldn't handle the anxiety of l&d, they transferred to postpartum. Has this been anyone else's experience? There is a nights registry postpartum position that I think I'm going to go for. I am not at all saying that postpartum is easier. But it is a different workflow and a bit more routine. A different kind of busy. I think I'd thrive in that setting and really love educating new moms about themselves and their babies. Can anyone weigh in? I'm afraid I'm making the wrong choice but can't help but feel this may fit me better. I like the idea of coming into work and knowing what my day will look like. I know some days worse than others, but for the most part, couplets post c section or post vaginal delivery. Thanks in advance for the support!
