UNC-CH ABSN Spring 2018

Hey All!

I recently got notification that I have been accepted into the absn program for Spring 2018 at UNC Chapel Hill. I havent found any other forum or blog for this class so I decided I would start one :) I dont have a facebook but if anyone finds one on there that might be more helpful, please let me know!

I look forward to meeting/chatting with new people!

I just found out that I've been accepted too! I was really surprised that there wasn't already a Facebook group or a forum on here about the 2018 UNC ABSN cohort, especially judging by how many there are from previous years. Congrats on your acceptance!! Hopefully other students may see this, and we can create a Facebook page if we get enough participation.

Can't wait to meet everyone! Go Heels!!!

Thank you making this thread! I was accepted too and wanted to make a facebook but for some reason I couldnt without a friend joining on. I am so happy to be starting in January and will be attending the November 5th orientation. Congratulations to you all!

Hi!

My GPA was 3.1 but I was told that I had great essays and I had a ton of volunteer history. I participated in a lot of short term projects like summer camps, tutoring, mentoring, and alternative breaks. I also volunteered with sick children at UNC and volunteered with children with cancer for 2 semesters in college. I also tried to keep my volunteer experience in one or two areas. So, I stayed with children and Maternal Health. I worked at the Y for 4 years, UNC Health Care as a CNA I for 3 years and worked in a Peer Children's Lab and Maternal Health Lab for one of my school years.

Hey all! I know this is a little early, but is anyone else looking for an apartment/roommate? I think it would be great to live with some other nursing students, so let me know if you're interested! My budget is around $600 which seems to be about average for the area.

Hi all! I also was accepted into the Spring 2018 cohort for the ABSN program! I am very excited to meet you all in January! I'm attending the November 5th pre-orientation and I am also looking for a roommate(s). My budget is between $700-$750 and I also am planning to bring along my small dog (she's very calm, quiet, and sweet). I have been looking into apartments and houses but would prefer a house. Hey everyone!

Does anybody know if there is a Facebook page for accepted students? I've been looking around for one but am wondering if there is a private group or something. So excited for Jan. 9th!
