UMB Nursing Informatics Class

Alright so I know I'm probably being silly but I figured there are people on here that might know the answer to this.

For those who've taken Nursing Informatics- did you find the midterm particularly hard? Apparently someone broke into the test bank so I know the answers are going to be switched around (and for the record I'm not asking specifics) but any advice on what to grab information from would be great. I know we're allowed to use our notes but the proctor of the class and my own instructor teach far different material so I'm slightly anxious.

I also feel like that's a class where I might be able to score an A so...any thoughts? Did the midterm make you scream and pull your hair out? We're talking the 50 question multiple choice test where we had an option to take a short answer version (which I've heard is much harder and you're writing the entire time).

Again all thoughts are welcome :)

I took the course in class and it was the essay format. He gave us possible questions that may appear on the exam so I pretty much did it ahead of time and brought in my notes in and transferred over my answers. The questions were a lot alike, different in some aspects but I didn't do too much modifying. There were only 2 questions that threw me off a little. Overall it's not too bad, especially since it's open book. It helps to get all your notes together. I never read for the class before until I started studying for the midterm. I still got an A in the class... and I'm not a super genius or anything so it's honestly not too bad.

I took the 50 multiple choice exam last Tuesday. The test was very interesting but the questions were definitely scattered. It was not hard, but it asked very specific questions in regards to each Module. So what I did was that, the week before I reviewed all the powerpoints and Webcast lectures. Then the day of the test, you had post-it notes on what each module covered. For example, Module 2 covered Communication, Computer Database, and the rise of internet. Before the test, I spreaded out all the modules so they were accessible. So during the test, whenever I had aquestion relating to communication, I knew exactly where to go.

I had my module last Tuesday as well (you're in my class ) but I certainly agree that looking at the webcasts and powerpoints beforehand was a good idea. In taking the classroom portion of the class I can also say that a great deal of the questions are from the video lectures and NOT the face to face ones. So if you end up not taking the online portion, still consider watching the webcasts for the test regardless!
