UK student seeking California placement

hi I'm a second year adult nursing student looking for a four week placement in America for January 2015. My uni offers international placement but I am not interested in any of the places they have so they let us pick our own. Does anyone know any nursing schools in California that would be able to accommodate an International Student and how I can go about contacting them? I'm also aware that in America, they study nursing in general instead of specializing like we do here, so I don't know if that would be a problem? Any advice would be very helpful. This is my first time posting so I apologise if I have done this the wrong away
