UK Graduate Nurse with Masters in Science Adult Nursing wanted to Practice in USA and take NCLEX exam with 5 Years of Experience working as ICU Nurse at NHS
I am seeking to apply as a USRN from the UK and relocate there with my family. I have a question I am aware that the common issues for UK graduate Nurses are for having a deficient clinical hours mainly focus on Pediatric and Psychiatric. I have only done 2 Years MSC Science Adult Nursing from University of Nottingham mainly only focusing on adult care and I have also been professionally practicing in the UK as a ICU nurse for almost 5 years. I have my transcript back from my University since I applied for a staffing agency based in the US and they mentioned to me since I havent done my Pediatric and Psychiatric clinical hours while I was in Uni they suggested that I should take a Bridging course program before I can apply for CGFNS for credential evaluation. Based on my Knowledge I have done some mental health studies and 16 hours baby care which class as Deficient or missing clinical hours. Has anyone here had the same issue because the worst part is I have only done 2 years in Adult Nursing mainly focused on Adult Care which is a compress fast track course for entry level nursing in the UK and I believe for anyone who wants to work as a USRN these are the core part of clinical hours you need to fulfill. At this point I don't know where to begin with do I apply through CGFNS first and find a bridging course program based in the UK? I am also having trouble finding the right place to take these bridging course program that they will definitely require me to take to fill those clinical hours. I am not sure if I have to go back to University again to do these courses or is there any fast track online courses that they provide especially for foreign trained nurses who graduated from the UK. Any feedback and help on this forum is highly appreciated looking forward to hear back from anyone who had this kind of problem too. Take care
