Pediatric care in war torn and post conflict areas: the experience of "Emergency"

Purpose: The programs are designed to keep current to physiology, diagnosis, and clinical advances in a wide spectrum of diseases of neonates through adolescents; to improve both their clinical and teaching skills; and to keep them abreast of the ever-expanding information base, essential to providing state-of-the art care to children and their families.

At the end of the session participants will be able to:

1. Understand the acute effects of war with particular emphasis in children and adolescents.

2. Understand the long term consequences of war.

3. Understand the need for health care capacity building.
