UH New Grad Rate?

U.S.A. Ohio

Just curious as to what University Hospitals pay their new grads? What about shift diff? Thanks a lot!!!:nuke:

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I'm a nurse in Cleveland and only did my clinicals at UH, but I do believe the nurses are paid salary, not hourly. Somehow they figure out shift diff and everything in. I think only their ED is paid by the hour. I'm not quite sure off hand what the salary would be. The general pay for an RN in the Cleveland area is $21-26/hour.

thanks for the reply. I accepted a position through Cleveland Clinic, but have an interview with UH. I have done clinicals there as well, but didnt know anything about the pay. Thanks again!!!

Specializes in cardiac.

I applied to both CC and UH and found that they both offered me the same, $24/hr. I don't know the shift diff. though. They were both on med surg or cardio floors.

University Hospital starts all new grads at $21.25 and 4.OO shift diff. Everyone (new grads) starts at the same salary due to the union rules. This changes every two years when contract is renewed. Hope this helps.

There is no union at UH that I am aware of. I work at one of their suburban hospitals. Do not know their starting rate for new grads however after working at both CC and UH hospitals, UH has much more respect for their nurses than the CC does and alot less game playing by management than CC. Just my opinion...

I currently work at TUH and the nurses are all union except for in the ED and other certain areas (radiology etc.) but the floors and ICU are all union.
