Hello everyone. I am not sure if someone has started this thread already, so pardon me
I got recently admitted to UCLA for their nursing program for the Fall 2012 quarter :) (I was one from the ten people who were admitted!)
Earlier this year, I went to one of their nursing program info sessions and learned that the program will take three years to finish Now for just a reference, UCLA's pre-requisites are heavily emphasized on the sciences, that aside from the usual pre-nursing courses, I also took pre-reqs which pre-med and pre-pharmacy students normally take (aside from Eng'g Physics II and Calculus II) so it took me quite a while to get all the pre-requisites done and now I have finally accomplished my goal.
I think I've been in school too long enough, and I am hoping if I can finish the program sooner. Are there any transfer UCLA nursing students who are IN the program already? I was wondering if I can complete the program in two years. The first year course schedule
for transfers is a joke..only 1 or 2 courses per quarter and these courses are like the intro to nursing ones, epidemiology, biostats, etc. I am thinking if I can also take the courses allotted for the 2nd year transfers--these courses are usually the clinical ones.
I know that probably the course schedule is already tailored for us, but i just wanted to know insights from any ucla nursing students who were also transfers before.
BTW, I was also accepted to UCI and CSULB. UCI takes two years to finish, but i live far from Irvine and i wanted to save as much as I can.
