Hey guys!
So I am presently a Animal Health Technologist and have decided to come over to the Human side of the nursing field! I spent entirely too many hours a couple weeks ago figuring out exactly how I was going to go about this and settled on doing most of my pre-reqs via Athabasca with a few at the U of Calgary and then applying for the fast track nursing program with the U of C.
Alas after a conversation with a RN who works Saturdays at my Vet clinic I have been informed this program is less then adequate and I will have a hell of a time getting a job afterwards, clearly not what any one wants! So I did some research, and it looks like the program was completely re done in 2010 and converted from a 18 months course to a 24 or 28 months program, the 28 month is the one I believe I am eligible for. It has 8 terms, with only one summer break... leading me to believe it may perhaps be more credible??
Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this for me, either those who have taken the program and of course those who have work with people who have taken it on their practicums. I don't want to spend another 20g on school and waist 2.5 years of my life on a crappy program but moving would be highly inconvenient!
Thanks in advance!
