All the UC hospitals have a wage schedule based on the current CNA contract which took effect in 2018 until 2022. Based on the UC Davis wage table for 2021, you are designated as a CN2 (Clinical Nurse 2) on Step 13 based on your years of experience.
Did you remember getting an email from HR where you are given a link to enter all your nursing experience in chronological order? That's the program used to determine your years of experience and where you fall on the steps of the wage table. BSN is not given a differential pay. CNOR (and other specialty certifications such as CCRN, CEN) will allow you to get $100/month added to your salary. You have to send a form to HR to get that added.
The current CNA contract gives all nurses an across the board raise of 3% each year in January until 2022 after which a new contract needs to be ratified. Step raises (as you accumulate years of experience) occurs every July.
The CNA contract is here: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/labor/bargaining-units/nx/contract.html
As far as pension, HR should explain the details to you.
Thank you for responding. Yes I received and filled my nursing experience in chronological order. HR said that the retirement benefits is based on the CNA Contract and mentioned that UC nurses receives two increases in a year ( Union increase of 3% and university increase in June or July of 3%). It wasn’t stipulated in the job offer. I guessed it will be further explained in details when all the background and drug test clearance arE done . HR just emailed me the link of the benefits which is kinda weird because the link is opened to UC Davis health not CNA LINK
CNA is the nurses' union. You won't hear from them until orientation. You will get links to UC stuff for now. I don't work for UC Davis but another UC campus.
