Tx for pain during cosmetic laser procedure

Published

Dear All,

I would like to troubleshoot some issues. How do you treat pain for hair removal when EMLA is not enough? How do you treat for Restylane which seems more painful for Botox? With the Botox, are you just using ice or you also using buffered lidocaine prior. What can be done to make clients more comfortable. I have some opportunities to go in this direction but the pain element is really holding me back. I spent clinical time in different offices and kept coming back nauseaus about the pain that clients experienced and what I would have to inflict.

Help?

Thanks

You can chose to work with a doc who gives the option of dental blocks prior to treatments to lower face. As far as upper face, I do not know of any other options. Botox is not as painful as dermal fillers.

Also, I do know that the "elos" laser made by Syneron is not painful at all. I had it done my self on my upper lip. I had a 50% hair reduction after the first treatment. Occaisionally I fely a tiny "zap", that slightly startled me, more than hurt me.

Hope that helps.
