I am making a documentary on Viagra and its impact on the older generation. I would really appreciate some help and advice on sexual provision in care homes, and the rights of older people to sexual expression. I have been told that sexual relations in care homes are not encouraged, but that they do still occur. In one instance four people were discovered having sex together in the day room and subsequently thrown out of the care home they lived in. I've also heard that care homes are now looking to set aside special rooms for couples to be intimate in. Please could someone advise me on what current policy and provision is within a care environment? Is there a difference between public and private sector provisions?
Essentially I would really like to talk to care home employees and medical staff about this issue, and whether Viagra has helped create a rise in sexual activity amongst older people. Or is there an avenue to consider I've not even thought of?
Thanks very much for all your help. You can contact me on 020 7967 1234 or email me on [email protected]*.
*if you are emailing can you please avoid putting the word Viagra in subject heading as annoyingly our firewalls will block your message. Thx.
Best wishes
