Turning down a private school..HOW?

hi all. i applied to two nursing schools this year. one is a cc and one is a private school. ( a small private school). both i attended prerequisties at. i got to know the owners and operators, also teachers at the private school real good. they are great people, man...but if i can go to the cc i would save $15,000. how would i tell these people that i got into a cc? the owner told me he liked me so much that he would without a doubt save me a spot in the program..i mean i'm not saying i"m so good he needs me there..i'm saying, he is so kind and because i got along so well him and his wife they wanted me to go. what do i say? do i call, write or go face to face to tell i won't be going there? has anyone else had a similar experience.
