I know that St Joes will be opening a new Neuro paviallian with all kinds of new and exciting neuro stuff, including a neuro ICU.
And that's all I know!
I think TMC has a neuro unit, but TMC is in SHAMBLES right now. I'm not quite sure what's going on with them, but I heard they are falling apart, and that Banner (from Phx) is buying them out? Lots of people I know who work at TMC are getting fired/layed off.
I have spoken to a couple hospitals and am getting a good vibe from UMC, I think the pay is low for my years of Nursing but all in all I feel comfortable taking a chance with them. As for Northwest in Tucson am not convienced yet, plus i don't like the fact that its a non Union. Having mentioned that am not sure if UMC is a union hospital but I know it's a teaching hospital. please spell out any details on hospitals in Tucson. I wanna try to keep put in whatever choice i make.
How do they treat their staff?
what are their ratios?
what is the floating policy?
How many weekends are you required to work a month?
Is it a Union or Non-Union?
Is it a teaching hospital?
How many techs or nurses aide do you have on the floor?
How is the turn around for employees?
What is the pay like?
What bonuses do they offer?
DO you ever see your nurse managers work the floor?
Do you get appropriate patients on your floor?
Are you mandated to work overtime?
There are NO union hospitals in Az...
I'd pick UMC. They are the only hospital with staffing ratios and the olny trauma center in town...
