I am "hoping" to start an LPN program in August but I'm having a really difficult time figuring out what I'm going to do about work. I have to work. There's no way around that. LPN school is either 7am to 3pm or 4pm-10pm Monday-Friday. I am trying to find a job where I can work 12 hour shifts on the weekends but even still, it seems impossible. Most jobs are 7pm to 7 am. and you have to work min. 3 days a wk. I could do Sat. and Sun. only but really can't afford to work part-time. I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and I know that I have to make sacrifices but it just seems that timing is always off for me.
Any advice? What kind of jobs did you have while going to nursing school? How did you make it work?

I am a single mother, full-time nurse and a full time student doing master's. it is tough, but if you can afford to work nights, 3 nights a week and you get time to study. You can also request to work certain nights. I tend to work Friday, sat, Sunday and get paid more. My friends managed to bar tend while at nursing school. Good Luck.

Hey! I am facing more or less the same problem, I have to work fulltime (no matter what) and I'm going to be in the RN program fulltime next month, I work 2:30 - 11:00pm M-F in a Laboratory, I have spoke to my supervisor and she is going to give me a flexible squedule based on my classes, I will bring her the squedule for classes next week after orientation, another option is working weekends, which I have done before, making 16 hours Sat & Sun (32). That may work for you... dont't worry I will find the way!!! Good luck!!!
