Truth about travel nursing

Published

Hi! So I have read many of the different threads on here as well as doing some of my own research on travel nursing, but there are still a few questions I have that haven't been answered/addressed:

How long do you have "off" in between assignments? Do you get to choose how soon you take another assignment after one finishes or does the agency have that written somewhere in the contract?

That's the beauty of travel nursing- it's up to you!

I typically take between 6-8 weeks of between contracts. I carry my own insurance, so I don't have to worry about a lapse in insurance coverage.

Ditto. Half of the awesomeness of travel nursing is flexibility. I worked straight for 6 months, then I was off for six months. Now I'm working straight until March 2016, after which I will be chilling again for six months. For me I work and save up my money and then stay home until I start to run out of money but I don't recommend that. But you can take off (or work) as much as you'd like!
