Are there any IvyTech Nursing students on here, that have been in the program for a while now? I recently completed my fundamentals of nursing class, and at least 5 people failed the class, unfortunately that five included me. It saddens me because I haven't failed a class & now that I have worked so hard to get into the program, I fail the basic one. I have been crying all weekend. Here is my question though, I was contacted by the head of the department and she advised me that I would need to drop all the other courses I have signed up for except for the pharmacology, she stated I could drop that if I wished. Those of you that have completed or are in a Ivy Tech nursing program, have you heard of what happens when you fail a class? I mean if they told me I could keep the pharmacology I am assuming I just have to wait until they offer the nursing fundamentals again, in order to take it? All replies are welcomed, I was just trying to see if anyone knows of or has had any experience with this. Thank you all in advance, I really wish I would have found this site before.

Its unfortunate that you failed, but fundamentals is NOT a walk in the park. I'm not sure about the rules of your particular program, but I just wanted to post to tell you to hang in there. In my opinion, fundamentals laid out the foundation and built upon it, and for me it was very complicated. Don't beat yourself up. Do what you can to get back into that program. I would get multiple opinions from different representatives as to what you can do. Keep trying. Best of luck to you! :)
