I'm a 26 year old office professional looking to go to Nursing school. I work full time, no kids, and have been working in the medical field since my very first job at 15. I attended college about 5 years ago for 2 years but did not graduate, and dropped out since i basically had no direction and only attended classes i thought were "fun". Needless to say, I didn't do very well in college, although i did really well in High school.
I've decided to go into nursing since I've been in the medical field for so long and now I have a job that is willing to hire me as a nurse once I am done with school, and offers tuition reimbursement. I don't necessarily make a whole lot of money and absolutely NEED to work full time to support myself. Full time school is absolutely NOT an option. I figure I can afford to put myself through school with financial aid and tuition reimbursement.
So here's what I am getting at.....
I have read a lot here about the Trinitas program (VERY intense) and the Muhlenberg program. I was wondering if there are any of you out there who are presently going, or have gone to either one while working full time, and how accomodating either school is to part time/nights students.
I am also open to looking into any other nursing programs in the area that have a part/time night program.
Also....I was thinking about taking a few classes at Union county college to A) get myself used to going to school again, and B) perhaps get some prerequsites out of the way before I even apply to either Nursing school.
Let me know what you think!

Trinitas school of nursing,
hi I am currently in Nursing 131 in trinitas. It was really hard. I think you could make it if you quit your job. Evrything is incorporated in one class. alot of slides and self-study modules. Jeese i didnt know it was going to be like this.12 hours of Lab a week. it wasnt that hard but the instructor sometimes make it hard for you for you especially the prof in the morning class. there is a terror instructor that i know. It was easy to enter the program in trinitas. No entrance exam, no interview. You just have to apply to UCC and get a 2.5 GPA. I regret the time that I go to this school. If trinitas is in your list take it off. I'm on the 2nd semester of nursing and i wasnt doing well. They give you a lot of reference to read. they dont use just one book. they use 2 books plus other articles. If you have a job i dont think this is a best school for you. If you are not passing their 1st and 2nd tests in the beginning of 131 or other class they will advise you to withdraw and tell you that nursing is not for you. I don't like the fact that they dont encourage the students to fight and pass the class. I dont think they care about their sudents. trinitas is a tough school that i know.
I am planning to transfering to Muhlemberg school of nursing. I've heard that their passing is 70 only but you know u just have to deal with the long proccess before you enter the program. they have NET, interview and references. it sounds alot but i think they dont fool their student like trinitas. I want to hear more about mulhemberg too. trinitas has 75% passing grade and they only care about their 100% Nclex passing grade. this is not a good school for everybody.
i agree with you 100%...
