Hello All:
I am currently working on a project concerning the needs of traveling nurses. If anyone has a few minutes to respond any insights would be extremely helpful!
First, if any of you who are traveling nurses would be interested in an interactive website? What would you like to see from this site? What is not available now on these forums that you would appreciate to see in an interactive site?
Second, what are some of the most popular places to go as a travel nurse? How often does a travel nurse generally move? Do some nurses end up becoming permanent staff at hospitals? What types of services make it better to make the move from one area to the next?
Third, are agencies working for you? How does working with a staffing agency assist you as a traveling nurse? What would you like to see in a staffing agency that you currently do not have? Do the hospitals that employ travel nurses offer special incentives or bonuses?
Last, how does traveling affect you on a personal level? What would make it easier to maintain a high level of comfort as you travel?
Any insight into the field of medical traveling would be appreciated.
Thanks, LizzieInez

Seems like there is an interactive website right here. What did you have in mind? There are hundreds of agencies - some good some not so much. But unless you want to try independent contracting (essentially starting an agency of your own - a LOT of work), you have to work for an agency. They are interested primarily in their own profits as is any business. Agencies work for you, but their most important client is the hospitals they staff.
