Travel Nursing Companies Best to Work For

I am considering changing my career path in nursing. I am interested in the best travel nursing companies to work for as far as compensation packages, contracts, assistance with housing, medical benefits, making travel arrangements, etc. Is it worth it at my age? My children are adults now and I have the freedom and flexibility to travel. I am 56 years old and been practicing nursing for over 30 years mostly in the perioperative services and currently as a pre admission/recovery RN in a surgery center. I would prefer to work in an ambulatory or surgery center.

I'm also interested in any opinions on travel nursing at this age, as I have similar circumstances, though very different experience. I've been doing Utilization Review for the last 3 yrs ( have been an RN for 21yrs) and have seen a few listings for this type of travel position. Anyone know if these come up often and what the are like? Best agencies for Case Mgmt openings, as these tend to come under CM? Thanks so much for any input!

Recruiter here, I recommend checking out the "Traveler Talk" facebook group to get a general idea of what companies to look into and which ones to stray away from. A lot of the agencies out there will be offering very similar pay packages and benefits so i'd focus on finding a recruiter that you get along with because they will be your point of contact. In terms of pay packages I'd recommend asking agencies what percent margins they work on and shop around at multiple agencies to see which one can offer you the best percentage. Some companies may hide this number from you and I'd suggest straying away from these agencies. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist you good luck in your future travels!
