I worked as a traveler for 3 years. My very favorite was the Phoenix/Scottsdale area in Arizona. Yes, it gets hot. But it's not humid. I was there from November - July and never used my air conditioner, just ceiling fans. It does get cool at night. And the scenery alone is absolutely breathtaking. At Christmas it was such fun to see lights on the cactus! In the mornings, while driving home, I could see hot air balloons in the sky - beautiful! The sunsets are the best; I could keep going.

Newport Beach, CA was great because I could never afford that area on my own. I worked at Hoag Memorial Hospital and loved it! It's a great hospital. When you walk out the door in the morning you walk onto the roof of the parking garage and can see the boats in Newport Bay. On Sundays I would drive the length of PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) from LA to San Diego.

Another favorite was Winstom Salem, NC. In fact, I almost settled there. You still have your 4 seasons. The people were great. The hospital (Baptist) was great. And the Blue Ridge Mountains are beautiful! And - it's only a few hours drive to Cape Fear, Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach, all of which are some of my favorite places.

West Palm Beach was nice but not one of my favorites. It got really humid there!

Baton Rouge, LA during Mardi Gras was fun. But the people were not as friendly (sorry to those of you in Baton Rouge - just my experience) and the weather was horrible. It rained about 80% of the time I was there.

Traveling was the best thing I ever did. I wish I could do it again. A suggestion - keep a journal and take lots of pictures! And have fun!
