Hello Everyone,
I'll be done with my NP program in April 2017, but we're told we won't be able to sit for boards until November of that year. I made a previous post about moving to Colorado to work as an RN while prepping for boards as I want to start my NP career out there. Because of this I'm trying to figure out my options. One idea I had was to work as a travel RN during this time since the travel companies will help pay for the move, license reimbursement, housing, etc. etc. This could save me a ton of money, plus from what I hear travel nursing pays quite well, and with them covering housing costs (or at least helping) it could be great financially.
So this brings me to my questions. I put my contact info into a travel nurse site in order to access info about contracts, etc., not knowing they would source out that info to dozens and dozens of companies, so my phone and email have been blowing up. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. How does one select a company to work with? Is it good to get involved with multiple companies? The only places I want to go to are Denver and surrounding areas, nowhere else, so my concern is getting involved with one company and then not having those options. Every one of the recruiters that contact me all say their company is the best thing since sliced bread but how can you tell the good companies from the bad? For the most part I've heard good things about travel nursing but have also heard some horror stories of getting stuck with a crappy contract at a crappy facility with terrible management and no support and being stuck there for 13 weeks. Sorry for the long winded post. Any recommendations of travel companies would be appreciated as well.
Thank you all in advance!
