Transplant, General Medicine

Hi all. I would like to ask all of you on your thoughts of me working on a Transplant, General Medicine floor. I just finished an interview and it seemed like they are interested in me. I am scared that I may not do well or survive this unit. :crying2:

I have applied for their newgrad program, however the actuall newgrad classes will start next Jan (their newgrad program are held only twice a year-- one in Jan and one in July). They will start me with a preceptor-- 4 wks on days and last 2 on nights which is the shift that I will be hired on. The advantage I'm told by the recruiter is that by the time I do go the class on Jan, I will have hands on experience already and the classes would be more meaningfull. And I guess thats sounds true. What do you all think about this??

Also, I graduated nsg school 5 yrs ago and didnt go right away into the profession because I was pregnant and wanted to raise my son. I have been a patient care assistant for the last 2 yrs so I think it will help me but I am worried that being out of school for 5 yrs will affect my performance. :uhoh21: I passed my boards 2 months ago and I'm ready to start my nsg career which I love.

Do you all think it's a good idea for me to start in a transplant, generel medicine floor considering my situation?? Any advice I would deeply appreciate. Thank you for your time and God Bless.
