I am considering Edison. I am currently in a LPN program. I will graduate June of next year. I am wondering if they will accept me contingent upon my passing boards prior to the program start. I was expecting to have completed my LPN program by May, but when I went to orientation, I realized that the program starts in July and ends in June. This has forced me to look at other schools for bridging options. I already have all of the gen ed course work completed
Hopefull1n30188: At Florida SouthWestern State College (Formally Edison State College) One of the admission requirements to get into the transitions RN program is that you must possess a current LPN license. So you would need to take your NCLEX, pass it, and apply to the Florida Board of Nursing to obtain your license before being eligible to start the RN transitions program. Good luck in your LPN program and the NCLEX! You're on the right track to getting to RN!

Is anyone planning to apply for the "transitions" program (LPN to RN bridge) at Edison in Fort Myers in 2015? I'll be finished with pre-reqs by the end of Spring 2015 (I have A&P 1and2 left) and will be studying for the HESI while finishing up. They added a new policy recently (I believe it is a new FL statute) that LPN's must be accepted into the RN transitions program before 5 years passes since their graduation from a PN program. I graduated in June 2011 which heightens my anxiety since I have until June 2016 to be accepted into the transitions program, otherwise I have to start all over at entry level. This change is fairly recent and now I wish I had started my pre-reqs sooner. I hate being so close to this new deadline. Anyone else cutting it close? Anyone else going to Edison for the RN program and applying around the same time? I could use a nursing school buddy lol
