Hello All,
I am nearing the end of my RN to BNS course work with Chamberlain and need a 2 credit filler class before taking my Capstone. My choices are Transcultural Nursing NR391 and Nursing History NR390. Have any of you taken these courses and if so, could you let me know your experience with them
Thanks

I didn't go to that school and haven't taken either class there ... but here are my $.02.
Most people would choose Transcultural Nursing because it is "sexier" to learn about other cultures. But I would choose the Nursing History class because I would personally prefer to enrich my understanding our my profession's history/roots/foundations/etc.
The older I get and the more changes I see in the nursing world, the more I appreciate our history and the paths that have led us here. I am able to see more clearly how our historical roots have influenced the present -- and will continue to influence our future. I wish I had studied more of history when I had the chance.
My recommendation is to go with your heart on this decision. Take the one that has the subject matter you are most drawn to -- unless you know some special reason why one course is better to take than the other.
