Tough spot- Should I tell an interviewer about another position?

I had an interview for a hospice position I desperately want. I had interviewed for the position over 2 years ago and did not get the job because of a conflict of interest (already working with another hospice agency). When I interviewed again last week she told me all these wonderful things about how impressed she was with me and that she kept my resume on file for so long after hoping another another position would come available for me. I thought I had this job in the bag! I check online a few days after and it says "no longer being considered." I am shocked! She had mentioned in the interview there was also a part-time position coming available in a week or so and so maybe she doesn't want to hire me for the PRN position I applied for, and instead will offer me part-time?

So, I had another interview for a rehab float position and was asked to shadow to see if it's a good fit. In the back of my head I was thinking "I'll go ahead and do it, but I already know I'll take the hospice position over this one."

What I am asking is, is it ok to email the hospice employer and ask her what her intentions are and mention I have this other opportunity and don't want to miss out on a job and end up with NO job? She is very aware hospice is my ideal position, but I think its only fair for her to be honest with me if she truly isn't considering me anymore. Would it be out of line to ask?

I would keep quiet and let her either offer the job or not. If you say you've had another offer most likely she will just pass you over for someone else.

If you think that you have a shot at the part time position you can call and just mention that you would like to follow up on your conversation regarding the hospice position. Most likely you have to leave a message on the voice mail machine. If she is interested she will call you back. If not you know. It is not good to mention other jobs you apply.
