I'm not really sure where to post this since I'm asking questions about more than one thing, but I think the bulk of them have to do with traveling so here goes.
First, I was wondering how many of you were LPNs that bridged into a RN? I'm currently a pre-nursing student with the plans of getting into the LPN program next August. I was hoping to graduate from the LPN program, get a job, and continue my education and bridge into the RN program while I was working. I had it all planned out, I would get my years experience to travel while working as a LPN and then would graduate with an ADN-RN and start seeing the world. As most of you know, things don't always go as planned. I found out today that I cannot do the LPN program then bridge straight into the RN program. In the LPN program I will not graduate until July, and the RN bridge program starts in June, the month b4 I will graduate. All I have to say about that is the people at my college who planned this out are morons. :) Anyway, this is really where my questions start..
Can LPNs travel? (That may be a dumb question, but I'm new to all this nursing stuff)
Have any of you started out as LPNs traveling (if you can) and continued to work on your studies to become a RN while traveling.. how exactly does that work?
What are the best travel companies, in your opinion? Which ones have you had a good/bad experience with?
What are the best places you have traveled to? (I know we all have different opinions and expectations of the places we travel, but I'd still like to know what places you loved.)
Are there any hospitals/cities you would avoid going to again?
Since I am very young (20) and don't know how these companies really work. Are there any questions you think would be helpful to me to ask the companies I am interested in signing with?
Also, I am a CNA student now and will graduate from that program in October.. when getting assignments will the time I worked as a CNA in a hospital count towards my experience?
If anyone could give me more information on anything related to traveling that would be wonderful. I still have 3 years before I can travel, but I know as long as I'm single and baby free it's something I would LOVE to do. I'd like to get information now so I can do some research on different companies and such so I don't end up being miserable or get taken advantage of b/c of my age and lack of knowledge. Thank you in advance for any help you may be!!!
