To job hop, or to not job hop. RN in need of advice!

Specializes in NICU,MICU.

Former COVID ICU nurse here! I graduated in 2020 and started in a very sick CVICU. Did great there, I just became very burnt out like so many others. So I switched to the neonatal ICU thinking maybe that would do the trick, but the truth is I’m just not as good at this as I thought I would be. It feels like I’ve started over essentially as a new grad, and I’m not sure its worth it to me to stay.

I’m afraid to job hop but I just think that's what I’m going to end up doing! I think ultimately I want something that is not constant high stress, but still rewarding. And, preferably still 3 12’s a week! I do plan on continuing my education, just not sure in what yet.

What other specialties are out there that you guys love? I've been told OR, PACU, Endo, etc. I technically have the option to just go travel ICU too.

Specializes in Oncology, NICU.

I AM LITERALLY IN YOUR SAME SHOES. What did you end up doing??
