To drop or not to drop

Hi!

I need a little advice. I'm currently in an associates degree nursing program in New York. I already have a bachelors, so I have the option to enter into an accelerated program. I was recently accepted to University for their accelerated degree, contingent upon doing well in my microbiology course.

The course itself is much more challenging than I would have anticipated and I'm considering withdrawing from my current associates degree nursing course just to make sure that I ace microbiology. The nursing credits won't be taken at Drexel, which is a small factor in my vacillation between whether to drop or not.

If I were to withdraw, I'd have the option to come back to the associates degree program next term, should something somehow go wrong with going to Drexel. I'm so used to not putting all of my eggs in one basket, but I'm starting to feel like it's time to live a little before I leave New York for Philly for a whole year. Good idea, bad idea?

Has anyone found themselves in a similar situation?

Thanks in advance for your advice.
