Tips for OB

I am going into my second semester in nursing school which is a MS and OB rotation. I feel like OB is where I want to be after I graduate- L&D, NBN, Mother/Baby, and NICU all really interest me. I even had an interview as a tech on an OB floor a few weeks ago for a great hospital in my area...unfortunately the mandatory orientation times would interfere with my class schedule but will hopefully be doing orientation in January over Christmas break. I just want to learn a lot and stand out in OB...I know my chances of getting a job on an OB floor are better if I have a tech job there while in nursing school. I want to really make the most of my OB rotation in the upcoming semester, so do you have any tips for lecture/clinicals? I found last semester I struggled with my Fundamentals clinical as I am still adapting to the stress of it all...I get very nervous and found that I am not as confident as I would like to be, therefore I have not performed very many procedures just due to being afraid and even a little shy (which is NOT me at all!). Any help and advice is appreciated! Thanks :)
