I'm going to nursing school for the BSN....I'm in my first semester and I just feel so overwhelmed with all the coursework and schedule. I feel like I am constantly studying but not really learning much. On my last pharamcology test, I actually made a 46 out of 100. I have never failed a test before in my whole time in college. I am getting very discouraged and actually hate going to school nowadays. I used to love going to school, but I am not enjoying learning at all anymore because it is just cramming, memorizing, and stress. I have thought about switching to another degree and just taking a whole different route outside of health. I have been so depressed lately and am losing the passion I had to become a nurse once. I find myself crying every day about why I didn't choose a different degree. What do you all think I should do?

So sorry you're having a rough time! It IS a lot to handle. It is also easy to get so discouraged throughout nursing school. Is there an instructor or a nursing adviser in your program who you feel comfortable talking to? Sometimes that helps working through all the mixed emotions people have for nursing. Also they might can help you with the pharmacology. Was the test on meds and medication info or was it mainly dosage calculations?
Hope you find some clear answers soon!
