Things to do in case you get in?

Published

I'm still waiting to hear if I got into either of the two schools I applied to for this fall. I know it could be a couple more weeks, and I'm worried that if it takes, say, two more weeks, that if I start to do things that I will need to do before I start, that it will be too late. I'm in PA, and we're required to do a child abuse history clearance and a criminal background check from the state police. I've already sent those in, so hopefully they will come back soon. I know we also gotta do fingerprinting with the FBI and getting certified for CPR.

Is anyone else working ahead, trying to do whatever they gotta do "just in case"?

Also, can someone tell me what the FBI fingerprinting entails and when I should start on that? I'm assuming I could do the CPR thing pretty quickly, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Make sure you take the right CPR class. My school requires a specific CPR for health care providers class, not just the generic class. I didn't know there was a difference until I got my acceptance package.

About the fingerprinting--my husband and I are licensed foster parents and we had to get fingerprinted. It wasn't through the FBI, though. It was actually pretty cool--it was all computerized. Very simple.
